In particular, the shape of the edges, like mountain ridges, can only be achieved if skilled craftsmen meticulously prepare the hide from the initial stages.
It is precisely because skilled Japanese craftsmen handle every step from hunting to processing that such characterful leather can be finished into a beautiful single hide.

When laying it on the ground, we recommend placing a leisure mat or similar underneath.

The characteristics of each deer, such as wrinkles, sags, scratches, blood vessels, and pores, appear as natural imprints.

You can enjoy the unique texture of the leather as a one-of-a-kind mat.

While deerskin is originally tough and water-resistant, we have uniquely developed it into even stronger leather to withstand sudden rain and dirt during outdoor use!

While deerskin is inherently water-resistant and quick-drying, we've applied special processing to make it even more water-resistant so it can be washed with water even if it gets dirty from outdoor use.

The original softness and toughness of deerskin are retained, and with the added special processing, it can be washed with water if it gets dirty.
Also, you don't have to worry if it suddenly rains.

This is a bag made from the same Ezo deerskin.
After getting wet, wipe it with a towel and then hang it to dry.
※This is not a water-repellent finish, but a washable finish, so like clothing, it is resistant to shrinking or color transfer when washed with water, and it is less likely to deform after drying.

During the tanning process, a special liquid is soaked into the internal fibers themselves.

※Do not use a washing machine or detergent.
Please be aware that stubborn stains like oil may be difficult to remove.
Tests have also been conducted to see if color transfers when wet.

The secret of Ezo deerskin fibers

Why is deerskin so well-suited with qualities like being "light," "supple," "water-resistant," "breathable," "tough," "resistant to deterioration," and "smooth like human skin"?
The secret lies in the ultra-fine fibers of deerskin.

The fibers that make up the skin are as thin as 15/10,000,000mm (15 millionths of a millimeter), and many such fine fiber bundles intertwine, forming a structure where collagen is entangled.

Imagine 10 million fibers fitting into a 15mm diameter tube.
An incredible number of fibers are intricately woven together, something impossible with artificial leather or other types of leather.

It's a leather that's perfectly compatible with the outdoors, as it can be used roughly outside and is fine even in the rain.
